Sarah Jean Muncey-Gordon is a born and raised islander. The youngest of a large blended family, both of Sarah’s parents spent their careers as educators in the South Whidbey School District instilling the importance of community and youth outreach. Sarah graduated from South Whidbey High School class of 2009 where she ranked nationally in DECA competing in the Apparel and Accessories Marketing category. Sarah has been a license cosmetologist with Washington state since 2011.
After completing her formal education at Northwest Hair Academy and a traditional apprenticeship in Edmonds she returned to the island to work as a beautician and as the Associate Youth Director for the Christian missionary alliance-Langley. Sarah developed her executive skills at the corporate offices of Archie McPhee Novelties during a hiatus from the beauty industry. Her official job title was “Grantor of Wishes” working closely with the CEO and CFO learning the ins-and-outs of international business development. She now owns Bandbox Beauty Supply, Langley’s first and only beauty supply and is the youngest member sitting on the board of Langley’s Chamber of Commerce.
