New offerings by Maven Alchemy in the Whidbey Island Yoga offices upstairs in the Porter Building, 222 Anthes Ave, Ste 201, Langley:

Community Acupuncture and Trauma-Informed Yoga Nidra

Ten months ago, I started my acupuncture practice, Maven Alchemy, on Whidbey. From the beginning, there has been a great need for more affordable acupuncture. No one is currently offering Community Acupuncture here, so I’m answering the call. The first offering on October 26 sold out within hours of sharing it on social media. There will be two Saturday offerings a month through the end of the year (11/2, 11/23, 12/7, 12/21) from 12-2 p.m. at Whidbey Island Yoga in Langley. If there is great interest, then I’ll expand it to all Saturdays in 2025 (& maybe more).

Treatments are sliding scale ($40-50), delivered in a group setting, and tailored to your specific health needs (chosen from a menu of options). We can address all of your health needs, even back pain. We’ll use points below the elbows & knees and on the head & chest that treat the entire body, so dress comfy. You’ll remove your shoes & socks, roll up your pant legs & shirt sleeves, and relax back into zero gravity chairs in a room with 1-3 other people.

Take 45-60 minutes out of your busy week to relax and just be with other community members in a safe, quiet space overlooking the Village by the Sea and Saratoga Passage. Like practicing yoga together or meditation, the collective intention of healing taps into the ventral vagal state, creating an optimal environment for health and well-being. You’ll be surprised by the collective healing potential.

In-person Esoteric Acupuncture

Sessions on Saturdays 12-6, Sundays 11-6, Mondays 12-7, and remote sessions on Tuesdays. If you would like to learn more about my offerings, I am also offering free 30 minute discovery sessions, both in-person and remote. These can be scheduled at https://linktr.ee/mavenalchemy

After 4 1/2 years away from teaching, I am stepping back into that role and offering a Trauma-Informed Yoga Nidra Class every Tuesday beginning November 12, 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the Whidbey Island Yoga space in the Porter Building, in Langley. No experience necessary. If you can lie comfortably on the floor on a yoga mat with a pillow under your knees and covered in a blanket, then you can do Yoga Nidra.

We’ll begin by breathing together and doing a few Vagus Nerve exercises before getting comfortable for Yogic Sleep. Bring your own mat & props to be supremely comfortable, but there are a few at the studio to use if you don’t have any. The class is donation based with a suggested donation of $15, but $0 is required to attend. Come join community and build a resilient nervous system together. If nothing else, you’ll get a good nap.
