Ott & Hunter Presents Conversations In Jazz: Grant Neubauer & Troy Chapman

Saturday, July 26th @ 7 p.m.
$25
Ott & Hunter Winery and Troy Chapman present: Conversations in Jazz, a series of intimate evenings of music and musical conversation, one on one, with some of the Northwest’s finest artists.
We’ll explore favorite tunes, musical history and experiences, chosen instruments, audience questions, and anything else we can come up with. But, most importantly, expect some sublime jazz.
Raised on Whidbey Island, Grant Neubauer is fast becoming a standout voice in the Puget Sound jazz scene. As the curator and bandleader of the acclaimed Jazz Legacy series at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts (WICA), Grant brings a powerful blend of tradition, innovation, and youthful energy to every performance. His artistry has earned him a place among Seattle’s top jazz talent, where he’s shared the stage with the likes of Alex Dugdale, Eric Vanderbilt-Mathews and a host of South Whidbey High School alumni who’ve gone on to shape the sound of jazz locally and nationwide.
Based on Whidbey Island, Troy Chapman can be found locally playing gypsy jazz with The Hot Club of Troy, modern jazz guitar with The Troy Chapman Group and Baroque Lute with The Island Consort. From 2010-2016 Troy was a member of the renowned gypsy jazz group Pearl Django. He appears on three releases “System D “, “Eleven”, and “Time Flies”, contributing original compositions as well. He has also been honored to play with some fabulous musicians including guitarists Bucky Pizzarelli and Martin Taylor, legendary jazz group The Manhattan Transfer, superb vocalists Gail Pettis and Greta Matassa and countless other brilliant musicians.
