Celebrating Our Members: Renew Your Chamber Membership for 2025-2026
As summer winds down in Langley, we’re gearing up for one of the most important times of the year for the Chamber: membership renewals! From September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026, your membership keeps the Chamber strong, vibrant, and ready to support our local businesses in every season.
This year is especially meaningful as we enter our Jubilee year — 50 years of the Langley Chamber of Commerce! Since 1976, the Chamber has been a champion for Langley and Whidbey Island, helping independent businesses flourish while welcoming visitors from across the region and beyond. We wouldn’t be here without you, our members — from long-time businesses to fresh new faces in town.

✨ Member Spotlights
Our members say it best:
- “I really appreciate the Chamber’s downtown merchant phone tree through WhatsApp. It’s very well updated on events or news going on in Langley if I can’t be present for community meetups. For a busy business owner this is super helpful!”
— Jennifer, The Blue Peony - “Ben and I love the direction the Chamber is going. They’re really creating a holistic community and focusing on making the town a comfortable and sustainable place… Rather than pulling more people from outside of town, they’re cultivating a natural draw and making it a welcoming space for locals and folks from all directions.”
— Melissa, Flying Bear Farm - “I’m impressed with how active the Chamber is in pursuing avenues of bringing in business that aren’t always apparent to everyone.”
— Josh, Moonraker Books - “The Chamber is of value to me for many reasons, primarily for business sent our way from the Visitor’s Center, but also for the networking with other members at the monthly meetings.”
— Jen, Prima Bistro & Saltwater Fish House & Oyster Bar - “The Chamber is a pulse for our town. We appreciate all they do for us from sending folks to our grocery store for a quick bite to advertising our boutique sales and so much more. It’s really a partnership in business and life! -Tamar Felton, The Star Store Grocery & Mercantile
Our local voices remind us that the Chamber is more than the Visitor’s Center — it’s our neighborhood of businesses lifting one another up. We are eternally grateful for all of our members and strive to lift them up in every way we can.
🎉 Highlights From This Year & Looking Ahead
The past year has been full of accomplishments, traditions, and fresh new ideas. Here are just some of the highlights we’ve celebrated together:
Community Advocacy: The Chamber continues to support affordable housing initiatives with organizations like Island Roots Housing, Home on Whidbey, Habitat for Humanity, and many others recognizing the missing link between the housing crisis, workforce stability, and economic vitality… we’re excited to see ground breaking on the long-awaiting Generations Place workforce housing this fall.
40th Langley Mystery Weekend: Our town’s largest Chamber-produced event reached a milestone, bringing thousands of sleuths from near and far to Langley on a chilly February weekend. This year’s “Murder in a Small Town” also honored longtime writer Loretta Martin as she retired after decades of storytelling, while familiar characters like Mayor Josh DeFax and Ranger Chase Ketchum kept audiences engaged. Who knows what’s in store for next year… ? Keep your eyes and ears peeled for some sneak peeks soon!

22nd Welcome the Whales Parade: In April Langley rolled out the welcome wagon for the Sounders pod of gray whales in our annual parade and welcoming tradition. In partnership with the Langley Whale Center and Sound Water Stewards, our town celebrated with kids costume making, waterside ceremonies at Seawall Park and educational presentations all weekend long. An international film crew from Atlas Obscura was also on hand that weekend to capture the magic, highlighting Langley in their upcoming Small Town, Big Story feature.
Social Strolls: Hosted by our Chamber Board President, Alexa Allamano, these casual afternoon walks have become a summer favorite, giving community residents and Chamber members alike the opportunity to engage, network, and simply relax in an alternative to our usual morning member meetings. A typical stroll involves exploring downtown businesses, connecting with our neighbors and colleagues, indulging in some retail therapy, and finishing off with a bite to eat.

Wishing Wall Mural: Last August, the Langley Creative District (supported by the Chamber) unveiled a stunning copper installation by Melissa Koch. Supported by artsWA and community contributions the total $54,000 funding effort, celebrates our connection to the Salish Sea. It features the life of land and sea creatures and overall homage to our marine atmosphere and heritage.
Holiday Traditions: We’re hoping to bring back the Langley Holiday Market at the Fairgrounds this year to feature local artisans, while the Downtown Tree Lighting and Carol Book continues to bring warmth and song to the season. Of course we’ll have our beloved Holly Jolly Parade once again and welcome participants of all ages to dress in festive attire and celebrate ringing in the holidays Langley-style!

Shop & Stay Campaign: Promoted our town as a destination for both day-trippers and overnight guests, encouraging visitors to shop local and extend their stay.

Regional Collaboration: In June we hosted our joint South End Chamber meeting, where the Langley Chamber of Commerce, the Clinton Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Freeland Chamber of Commerce gathered together at the Whidbey Telecom WiFire gathering space to strengthen ties with our neighboring business communities and travel organizations. We anticipate increased tourism next year ahead of not only our annual Mystery Weekend, but also the World Cup in Seattle and Vancouver… which you know what that means – lots of travels to the PNW islands!
