Ott & Hunter Winery and Troy Chapman present: Conversations in Jazz, a series of intimate evenings of music and musical conversation, one on one, with some of the Northwest’s finest artists.
We’ll explore favorite tunes, musical history and experiences, chosen instruments, audience questions, and anything else we can come up with. But, most importantly, expect some sublime jazz.

Honza Kourimsky is a Czech-born guitarist and composer whose work moves fluidly between jazz, fusion, and modern improvisation. Now based on Whidbey Island, Honza brings his finely honed technique, compositional depth, and collaborative energy to the Pacific Northwest—working with local artists and inviting audiences into music that’s both thoughtful and electrifying.

Based on Whidbey Island, Troy Chapman can be found locally playing gypsy jazz with The Hot Club of Troy, modern jazz guitar with The Troy Chapman Group and Baroque Lute with The Island Consort. From 2010-2016 Troy was a member of the renowned gypsy jazz group Pearl Django.

Nathaniel Talbot Duo

Nathaniel Talbot, renowned Whidbey Island songwriter, poet and fingerstyle guitar whiz, will be joined by bassist Keegan Harshman as they work their magic on the Ott & Hunter stage!

It’s a busy life for songwriter and farmer Nathaniel Talbot, who runs an organic vegetable farm and seed company here on Whidbey Island. When not out cultivating onions on his solar-powered tractor, he’s inside cultivating songs that are rooted in the earth and American traditionalism. “Working in agriculture, while often physically and emotionally tiring, also provides the mental space and quietude for songs to be sown and nourished,” says Talbot.
