Thursday Night Music at Dancing Fish – Rae Isla & Special Guest Jeff Livingstone
Join us for excellent live music, wine and appetizers! First time ever to Dancing Fish, Rae Isla will be performing with Jeff Livingstone on guitar for an unforgettable evening.
Rae Isla is an independent singer-songwriter and musician from Bainbridge, Island, WA, now based in Los Angeles. Drawing from her early years playing classical cello, learning piano and guitar as a teenager, and attending Berklee College of Music on a vocal scholarship, Rae weaves together a unique blend of folk, indie rock and alt-country influences to create lush, evocative songs.
She is inspired by John Prine, Linda Rondstadt, Joni Mitchell and Sierra Ferrell – expect to hear at least a few cover songs from these songwriting legends! Her 2021 debut album, Another Life, garnered critical acclaim with features in Rolling Stone and Billboard, and charted #27 on NACC radio. Her newly released sophomore album, New Frontier – featuring fan favorites like “Miles and Miles” and “Free to Love” – marks an evolution in her artistry as a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and visual storyteller.
Rae’s voice has also reached new audiences through film and television. She performed the lead original song for Ezra, a feature film starring Robert DeNiro and Rose Byrne, and composed the theme for the upcoming docuseries SCENE: SILVER LAKE. Known as a “traveling bard,” Rae’s live performances are both intimate and immersive, sharing fantastical storeis from the road and creating a communal experience that breaks down the barrier between artist and audience. A burgeoning American songwriter in her own right, Rae’s ability to blend honest and intimate storytelling with cinematic arrangement will draw you in and keep you there.

“My new favorite musician/artist on Whidbey Island … Tami Smith … playing with Rick Vander Kam and Open Road. She plays the cello … killer clarinet … gorgeous and soulful vocals … and now the saxaphone … Rick has a ton of extra guitars so my guess is that is next. She brings creativity … passion … and spice to the stage…” — Dennis Brown (Facebook after recent performance at Bailey’s Corner).
This event is by reservation only and includes a shared appetizer board served to your table.
Please be aware that due to limited seating capacity in the Dancing Fish Barn, some patrons may be assigned to larger communal tables. Join us this summer for live music by the Leo Moon Trio, wine and appetizers!
Leo Moon is the solo incarnation of actor, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Brian Adrian Koch. California born and Oregon raised, Brian has been active in the Portland theater, film & music scene since arriving in 2000. He is a current and founding member of indie rock band Blitzen Trapper (2000 – present), and formerly of psychedelic folk duo Dead Lee (2017-2023).  Appearing now as the head of a cinematic psych folk trio, his minimal and haunting tunes are stripped down paeans to the glorious and filmic moments of life; harmonica spattered psalms to the mysterious, whirling beauty of it all. He is joined by Kate O’ Brien on violin and vocals and Fred Thompson on lap steel & guitar. The addition of Kate & Fred open the emotional landscape of Leo’s musical scenery like a key in a lock.
Leo has most recently opened for English troubadour Wesley Stace as well as Wild Horses, Loch Lomond & Small Paul.
