The Journey of the Artist

Andre Feriante gathers the voices of ancient strings into a single, living conversation. From the Greek lyre and Persian tar to the Chinese zhongruan and the Peruvian charango, his music travels across cultures and centuries. In this performance, he plays 17 stringed instruments from around the world, each carrying its own story.

Born in Naples and discovering the Spanish guitar as a teenager in Rome, Andre’s path was shaped early on by a master class with the legendary Andrés Segovia in Madrid. In recent years, his focus has turned to the history of stringed instruments—their journeys, transformations, and deep connection to the guitar.

Blending Segovia’s technique with reverence for tradition, Andre has forged a unique voice. From the sitar to the oud, the Renaissance lute to the Baroque guitar, he weaves warm, expansive tones and improvisation into a meditative space where the listener is invited to drift, listen, and disappear.…
