Works for All: Film & Talk

Thursday, October 15th  ~  12 noon – 2 p.m.

Front Room, 2nd Floor of Bayview Cash Store
5603 Bayview Road, Langley

Get inspired with this film about worker-owner cooperatives,
and learn from the filmmakers and local co-op businesses.

Whidbey filmmakers Mark Dworkin and Melissa Young visited Co-op Cincy, an inspiring network of worker-owned cooperatives in Cincinnati creating a regional economy that works for all. With significant leadership from women and people of color, members work in many sectors, including farming, food distribution, childcare, t-shirt printing, home weatherization, and more. What would it take for your business to become a cooperative? How could you join with others to create a new cooperative business here on Whidbey?

Kathie Rivas of Heartsong Home Care Cooperative and Shawn Serdahl of A1 DesignBuild will be available to share their experiences as founding members of their worker-owned cooperatives.
