

Nature (Re)Awaken Concert with Saratoga Orchestra

As we anticipate the coming spring weather, join the professional musicians of the Saratoga Orchestra for a vibrant program celebrating the beauty and rebirth of nature. The concert, entitled Nature (Re)Awaken, invites audiences to experience music inspired by the colorful and lively spirit of springtime’s blooming season.
March 8th @ 7 p.m. South Whidbey High School
March 9th @ 2 .p.m Oak Harbor High School
Featured works include:
• Louise Farrenc’s Overture No. 1: A rarely performed piece by one of the 19th century’s most gifted composers.
• Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Idyll: A short, lyrical composition for full orchestra, bringing a sense of tranquility and grace.
• Joe Jaxson’s Through the Bay, A new work from an emerging composer, inspired by the artist’s experience riding the ferry across the waters of Puget Sound.
• AntonÃn Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8: An epically splendid work showcasing the beauty of nature through rich orchestration and melody.
