Gideon Freudmann, a versatile cellist and composer, accompanies silent films with his cello, extended technique and some digital effects. He creates palate of sounds that brings new life to this classic art form. His music enhances the storytelling in such a way that audiences sometimes forget that they are hearing a cello. Freudmann has focused on two distinct genres from the silent film era: eerie expressionist films and Buster Keaton’s comedies.
