SUMMARY:Meerkerk Gardens First Day Hike
DESCRIPTION:Meerkerk Gardens is having our First Day Hike. \nAs you walk with Naturalist Steve Layman at Meerkerk Gardens\, the sounds of the forest come alive. Birds chirp melodiously overhead\, while the rustle of small creatures scurrying through the underbrush adds a layer of excitement to the atmosphere. The trail winds through patches of vibrant wildflowers\, their colors contrasting beautifully with the deep greens of the leaves. Alongside\, ferns and moss carpet the ground\, creating a soft\, lush foundation that cushions your footsteps. \nWalks start at 1 PM at the Gatehouse and last approximately 1.5 hours. Dress for the weather in warm layers\, water resistant shoes\, hats and gloves. Walks may be cancelled due to high winds. \nWalks are free for Friends of Meerkerk Members (and children under 13); cost is $15 per person for non-members.
