Habitat for Humanity of Island County brings people together as volunteers, homeowners, donors, and community members to create strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. Puget Sound Express
Each spring majestic gray whales migrate from the southern waters north to Alaska. In March and April they pass through the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound, providing an excellent opportunity to visit and learn about these whales.
Our Whidbey Island Gray whale tours run approximately 2.5-3 hours, and the waters that we travel in are protected and usually calm. The tour must have a minimum of 15 passengers for a departure. Call to find out about upcoming tours.

SUVA – Coupeville Maritime Heritage Foundation
Whidbey Island’s “flagship” is 68′ Schooner SUVA. SUVA sails from the Coupeville wharf May through September with regular visits to Langley and other ports of call. Regularly scheduled sails for the public and private charters are available during the sailing season. For sale schedules and reserve charters, call 360-320-4337.
SUVA was built in 1925 in Hong Kong, designed by Marine Architect Ted Geary. In 2015 SUVA returned to Whidbey Island, purchased by the Coupeville Maritime Heritage Foundation. This non profit is open to any all who want to take part in maintaining maritime history.

Dan Rider Sculpture
Dan Rider creates unique contemporary sculpture. He has recently returned “back to the garden” with a series of outdoor modern cast concrete sculpture totems called Drods. He was influenced early in his career by the abstract sculpture works of Isamu Noguchi, Louise Nevelson, and later on by Stephen De Staebler. Dan’s clients have installed many of his contemporary cast stone Totems to mark their landscapes with a unique focal point. Signature recurring themes involve a layering of multi-media dimensional elements that might include cast glass, aluminum & copper, and reinforced concrete.

Whidbey Island Dance Theatre
Whidbey Island Dance Theatre was founded in 1993 to promote dance as a significant cultural resource for Whidbey Island and the surrounding communities, and to provide pre-professional experience for outstanding young dancers. WIDT presents a broad range of dance genres including ballet, modern dance, jazz dance, tap and ballroom. Strict standards of training and choreography provide dancers with opportunities for personal and artistic growth. WIDT was a member of Regional Dance America from 2001-2012.
WIDT presents two major productions each year. Our largest production, The Nutcracker, has enjoyed 18 highly successful seasons. In spring, our Dance & Choreography Showcase highlights the diverse talents of our broadly trained dancers and features the works of both resident and guest choreographers. Guest choreographers in recent years include Eva Stone, Aaron Cash, Danielle Wilkins, Laurentia Barbu, Andrea Binder, Leigh-Ann Cohen Hafford, Jenna Kantor, and Daniel Wilkins of DASS Dance. In 2004, Sharon Tyers, formerly of the Martha Graham Dance Company, set the first modern dance master work on WIDT: Martha Graham’s Appalachian Spring.
Since 2000, WIDT has performed in Tucson, Salt Lake City, greater Los Angeles, and at the National Dance Festival in Pittsburgh, PA as well as a dozen cities in Washington. Local WIDT guest appearances include a featured evening at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts in 2007 and 2004, a performance including Waltz of the Flowers and Appalachian Spring at the internationally acclaimed Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens’ May Day festival, the Festival of Friends at the Northshore Performing Arts Center in Seattle, and the Ballet Bellevue Winter Gala at the Meydenbauer Center Theatre in Bellevue.
Artistic Director Charlene Brown began her dance studios, Island Dance, on Whidbey Island in 1987. The daughter of a dance educator, Char‘s whole life has been committed to offering the highest level of dance education and professional instructors to students. Extending this commitment to the art of choreography led to the formation of WIDT in 1993.

The Restaurant at The Inn at Langley, under the creative eye of Northwest award-winning Chef Matt Costello, is a gem of the Inn. This Whidbey Island restaurant overlooks a fabulous herb garden and features a double-sided river rock fireplace. Whidbey Island Woodworkers Guild
In 2001, the Whidbey Island Woodworkers Guild was formed to bring together the woodworking community of Whidbey. The Guild includes makers of furniture, cabinetry, architectural woodwork, tuners, clock makers, sawyers, carvers, restorers, musical instrument makers, boat builders, and refinishers. Studio 106 is a working studio for three artists, Phyllis Ray, Faye Castle, and Barbara Barry. We all paint in oil currently. Phyllis makes paintings of scenes and buildings in Langley. Faye paints atmospheric landscapes. Barb has been primarily painting animals. We are open whenever an artist is working and during every First Saturday Art Walk. We all also show at Brackenwood Gallery.

We set out in 2009 to make a world class spirit right here on Washington’s own Whidbey Island, and in September 2011 we sold the first bottle of our Loganberry Liqueur.

Orca Network/Langley Whale Center
Orca Network – Connecting whales and people in the Pacific Northwest. Projects include the Whale Sighting Network, Educational Programs, the Central Puget Sound Marine Mammal Stranding Network, the campaign to retire Lolita/Tokitae, the last survivor of the orcas captured in Penn Cove, and the Langley Whale Center. The Langley Whale Center is open Thursday – Sunday, 11 am – 5 pm. Come learn about the whales and marine mammals of the Salish Sea, check out books from our Marine Lending Library, watch films and talk to our volunteer docents. South Whidbey Children’s Center
Preschool and childcare for children ages 12 months through 5 years. We also have a before and after school program for children ages 5 through 12 years old. The South Whidbey Children’s Center is the only NAEYC accredited and Early Achievers participating preschool on South Whidbey. We believe that learning should be fun!

Art Loft
The Art Loft is a beautiful penthouse apartment one the 3rd floor of a building on First Street in Langley with views of Saratoga Passage. It is fully furnished and available as a vacation rental. One bedroom, queen-size bed, one queen-size sleeper sofa in living room, jetted tub/shower, VCR-DVD-TV, in non-smoking building/grounds. Sorry, no pets. Open front deck makes it not suitable for infants or small children. Walk to everything in Langley. Minimum stay of two nights. Weekly and monthly rental rates available.

A family run farm and winery situated on 22 acres overlooking Port Susan Passage and the North Cascades. With the largest established vineyard on Whidbey Island, the winery specializes in estate white wines – Siegerrebe and Madeleine Angevine. A new winery and tasting room are under construction – the farm has the space and licensing to accommodate a limited number of large private events.

Country Cottage of Langley
Country Cottage of Langley is a bed & breakfast with six private cottages with views of the Puget Sound and Cascade Mountains. Located in the heart of Langley Village on Whidbey Island.
