Delight in the Decorations
Escape the crowds with leisurely shopping in the charming seaside village of Langley. Starting the weekend after Thanksgiving, the town is transformed into a festive, creative holiday destination. Artists are invited to go wild with imagination and holiday cheer by decorating downtown Langley doors and windows. This Langley Main Street Association event is fast becoming a highly-anticipated affair. Three merchant winners will be selected and each receive a Deck the Doors $1,000 cash prize on December 22, 2018.
Lighting of Langley
Langley sparkles for the holidays with the annual Lighting of Langley community celebration at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Langley Park at Second and Anthes. Enjoy singing carols, sipping hot cider and cocoa, and Santa! This annual tree-lighting kicks off the holiday season in the Village by the Sea.
Country Christmas at the Fair
Come shop for unique and one of a kind handcrafted gifts and collectibles by local artists and crafters at the Whidbey Island Fair Grounds, Coffman Building. Lunch will be available for purchase. There will be Santa to greet the little ones, face painting, and a Kid’s Maker Space with lots of creative activities going on. Come out and browse the boutique for your holiday gifting.
Holly Jolly Holiday Parade & Shop & Stroll
Langley hosts its annual holiday parade at 1 p.m. (note time has changed) on Saturday, December 1, 2018. Musicians, service and youth groups, pets, families and floats will march up and down First and Second Street. This year, we are giving away three crisp $100 bills! Keep the cash or donate to your favorite charity. Cash awards will go to: the most festive entry, the entry with the most lights, and the entry with the most elves.
If you are interested in participating in the Holly Jolly Holiday Parade, click here to sign up. It’s free to join in this festive march through town, and the more the merrier!
Once the parade is over, stay for lunch or dinner and a bit of shopping.
Shop & Stroll
Participating stores are open late on December 1 for a festive evening; allowing locals and visitors alike to shop ’til they drop while enjoying First Saturday Art Walk.
