Chum Run 5k – 21st Annual

Come to South Whidbey Island and Run With Your Chums! Our 21st annual Chum Run 5k, this lighthearted run/walk event is for everyone! Families, serious runners, costume-clad superheroes, and a free “Fry Run” for ages 1-10 years.

Lots of Prizes! Gift certificates/prizes/medals are given three deep in males/females overall, high school, middle school divisions. Even elementary school division!

Course is over lovely groomed forest paths in South Whidbey Community Park in Langley. There are also a few moderate hills to add to the fun. Two loops.

Walk or run to benefit local organizations. Net proceeds are shared between South Whidbey Parks & Recreation and the South Whidbey Parks & Aquatics Foundation.

$25 by 6/14, $30 Day of Race – includes race shirt! (sizes as available)

Location: Race starts and finishes at South Whidbey’s Community Park, 5495 Maxwelton Road in Langley. Free parking.

Getting here:  Go to for directions. Ferries from Mukilteo leave every half hour. Plan ahead for long ferry lines.

Race Day Schedule:
8-9:30 Packet pick up & registration
10:00 Chum Run & Walk
10:45 “Fry Run” (Kid’s Fun Run)
11:00 Awards Ceremony

Register: Register in advance by mail, online at (no extra fees), or in person. Make checks payable to SWPRD and mail to 5475 Maxwelton Road, Langley, WA 98260.

Fees: Entry fees are non-refundable.

Registrations must be received by 6/14 for discount rate.
$25 through June 14 / $30 day of race
