“100 Years of Ferry Service” a SW Historical Society sponsored Talk
February 15 @ 10:00 pm - 11:00 pmFree
Did you know that for a short time Langley had car ferry service via a ferry with an elevator to load and unload autos?
That fisticuffs in front of the Clinton Progressive Hall was a precursor to a lawsuit that ultimately resulted in the State taking control of ferry runs?
That wood drying too close to the boiler led to a nighttime fire that burned the “City of Mukilteo” ferry down to the waterline at Columbia Beach while still at dock?
For these and other little known stories about our South Whidbey ferries, plan to attend Bill Haroldson’s talk this Saturday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m. in the second floor Front Room Gallery. It’s part of the new Snapshots of South Whidbey History exhibit that runs through Feb. 29.
Suggested donation is $5.
