Meerkerk Gardens

Meerkerk Gardens is a beautiful place to visit any time of year. Ten acres of display gardens surrounded by 43 acres of woodland preserve. Enjoy hundreds of rhododendrons & azaleas as well as exotic trees from all over the world. Stroll along easy walking trails and take in the beautiful views all year long.  Dogs on leash are always welcome.


Puget Sound Express

Each spring majestic gray whales migrate from the southern waters north to Alaska. In March and April they pass through the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound, providing an excellent opportunity to visit and learn about these whales.

Our Whidbey Island Gray whale tours run approximately 2.5-3 hours, and the waters that we travel in are protected and usually calm. The tour must have a minimum of 15 passengers for a departure. Call to find out about upcoming tours.

SUVA – Coupeville Maritime Heritage Foundation

Whidbey Island’s “flagship” is 68′ Schooner SUVA. SUVA sails from the Coupeville wharf May through September with regular visits to Langley and other ports of call. Regularly scheduled sails for the public and private charters are available during the sailing season. For sale schedules and reserve charters, call 360-320-4337.

SUVA was built in 1925 in Hong Kong, designed by Marine Architect Ted Geary. In 2015 SUVA returned to Whidbey Island, purchased by the Coupeville Maritime Heritage Foundation. This non profit is open to any all who want to take part in maintaining maritime history.

Useless Bay Golf & Country Club features one of the Northwest’s finest 18-hole golf courses.  An all-weather, year-round golfing facility on Whidbey Island, the course utilizes the foliage, topography, and natural water hazards of the Island.  With par for men a 72 and par for women 74, players of all abilities will be challenged and charmed by the quality golf offered in this beautiful setting.

Venture Out Plant Nursery

We offer a wide variety of plants, including a mix of large specimen plants down to small container plants. We differ from typical plant nurseries in that we have unique landscaped features with mature trees and plants on display. Our nursery boasts a large pond with a recirculating stream, rain garden, rockeries, garden shed with water wheel. It’s set amidst a large grove of Cedars.

Our Nursery has a serene and beautiful natural setting with trails throughout the property. We know that our unique nursery setting will offer inspiration to our customers and give them many great design ideas for their landscape.
